A Dream of Sudden Death
By A.J. Huffman
She wrapped herself
only in his sweater.
And stepped to the edge
of the door
she knew he left unlocked.
And with her eyes closed
she took a breath.
Pushing through the darkness.
In hopes of finding
the blue wall
of sky
that would carry her
through his arms.
